This year flew in and now it’s almost summer time. Before you know it, you’ll want to reveal the summer you to the world.  With that said, it’s time to think on what you want that look to say about you. After all, you’re wearing lighter clothes and aren’t nearly as covered-up as you are in fall and winter.

Today I offer some quick tips to help you boost your own confidence as you take your natural beauty out there to the world.  Get it moving, you are awesome!

As you know, my motto is sharing is caring so once you get your tips pass them along to others.

  1. Teeth whiteners: Go to any local drug store and you’ll find a ton of teeth whiteners. Some seem safer than others but the good ones may cost you a little more. Once checking in with your dentist and medical professional, you may want to think about trying one.  They can save you hundreds of dollars if your over getting professional treatments at the dentist especially if you just need a little boost.

  • Always read the guidelines on the product before using anything. Some products only work correctly when used according to the instructions.

  1. Show us the teeth: Body language matters and why not start with smiling more?  A happier face brings on better interactions with others.  When you smile more, you feel happier, more content and project a more confident you. And remember no matter where we are, we all smile in the same language…there’s no barrier there!

  2. Consider your tresses:  Going to the salon does not have to be an all day event for everyone. There are so many do it yourself haircare tutorials and products out there today, sometimes a new you is just a click away on your smart phone or laptop.  Also, for just a few dollars, you can go to a place like WalMart’s hair salons or go on Groupon to get discount coupons for salons near you.  A new look makes us feel great and gets us juiced for summer.

  1. Makeup for the ladies:  No happy the clown face for us this year ladies! Use your natural beauty to show them what you’re working with.

  • Gone are the days of heavy makeup unless you’re on a stage somewhere. Use a lighter foundation or powder that fits your skin tone so you don’t look fake and give your skin a break.

  • Think about the brows! Don’t forget your eyebrows are a template for your face.  Whether thick or thin, they set your tone so be careful of what design you choose.  They can stand out but standing up can knock your look right out of the beauty balance league.  Think also of your skin tone and how everything works together. Remember harsh lines tend to age the face. .

  • Use a bit of mascara, blush, and natural lip color, taking into account the summer season when selecting tones and colors. You’ll look and feel great when you look in the mirror and see the results.

  1. For the guys:  Try a professional shave and see what it can do for you. If you’ve had a mustache for a while, think on whether or not you need a new look.  Often times removing facial hair can make you look younger or like a totally new person. If you want a new you, try a new look. You may even think about growing a light beard. And don’t forget men need moisturizers on their faces too. Remember sun screen to protect you as well no matter what your skin tone or race. Don’t let UV rays get to you.

  2. Look at the wardrobe: Not everyone can afford to do a overhaul of their clothing but pick up a new shirt, or dress here and there. Look for sales and don’t be afraid to alter your normal shopping patterns to find stuff. Online shopping is great but there are some terrific finds when you go to brick and mortar stores too.

  3. Mind your mind:  Meditation does wonders for changing your mindset an summer outlook.  Lessening stress does wonders for the body and mind. It makes you feel and act lighter. Isn’t that what you want for summer?  Begin your day with a 10-15 meditation. Don’t have time, take a mediation break during the day. It’s all about the breathing! You’ll get the hang of it.

  4. Sleep does a body good:   Refresh your mind and body with getting more sleep. Many of us are sleep deprived and it plays a part in our ability to be fresh minded, creative and get along with others. Thins seem so much more stressful when we are tired. So many of us are in a regular state of tiredness we know nothing else and wonder why even summer isn’t enjoyable to us.  Listen to your body and rest. Your face and body will thank you.

  5. Get your look popping:  We often become creatures of habit with our clothing. Some of us have let go of the dry cleaning to save money but our clothes don’t pop. Get a crisp clean fresh look with the existing wardrobe you have simply by getting clothes professionally cleaned and ironed or if you iron well, get those creases popping! A polished appearance makes us feel great.

  6. Self-talk matters: If you take a true interest in how you look, you’ll gradually recognize that you’re looking pretty good. Go ahead and say so! And sign up for my weekly motivation emails so I can help encourage you to feel and o better.

Focus on looking the best you’ve ever looked this summer. Put some of these strategies into place to make needed updates to your look. Show your passion for life by improving your appearance, and you’ll enhance your enthusiasm for all aspects of living.
